Composite Carabiner

I designed a composite carabiner for my senior design project. This project was supervised by Professor Mathew Peter Miller and allowed me to apply the information I learned about composite structures in a field that I love - rock climbing. I was given a great deal of independence and determined my own goals, constraints, and analytical methods. I bounced ideas off Professor Miller and he gave me some great textbook references to build on. I taught myself ANSYS Composite Prepost and developed an extensive MATLAB script to help with my analytical calculations.

I’ve attached my final report below.
